The tithe is a Biblically prescribed act of obedience which allows us to partner with what God is accomplishing in the church through the gift of our finances.

Just as Jesus was able to take the small sacrifice of a young boy's lunch and multiply his offering into a feast that fed thousands (Matthew 14), the Lord is able to take our gifts and multiply them to create a kingdom impact in our church and in our city.

Our obedience to live generously often precedes enormous blessing in our lives. In fact, the only time in scripture that the Lord asks us to test Him is with our finances in Malachi 3:10.

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!

We want Vintage City Church to be a dwelling place for the Lord, and one of the ways we nurture this call is to create and foster a culture of obedience.

We ask that if you have never tithed before that you would commit to tithing for a period of time as an act of faith and obedience to see firsthand how the Lord will respond to your generosity. Sit down with Him and pray. Ask Him what He wants you to give, and be obedient to what He asks.

what is the tithe and why do we do it?

Psalm 50:10

"for all the animals in the forest are mine and I own the cattle on a thousand hills."

We pray that you continue to bring your tithe to the Lord and ask Him to expand your faith in His response to your generosity.

As you know, you Philippians were the only ones who gave me financial help when I first brought you the Good News and then traveled on from Macedonia. No other church did this. Even when I was in Thessalonica you sent help more than once. I don’t say this because I want a gift from you. Rather, I want you to receive a reward for your kindness.

At the moment I have all I need—and more! I am generously supplied with the gifts you sent me with Epaphroditus. They are a sweet-smelling sacrifice that is acceptable and pleasing to God. And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

The recent launch of our Gathering space is a testament to how the Lord has taken our gifts of finances and time and multiplied them to fulfill the vision He gave the pastoral team of Vintage over 10 years ago.

To those who have given and tithed throughout the years, we want to recognize you and thank you for your obedience and faithfulness. We know the Lord will continue to bless and multiply your gifts to equip us to have a greater impact in this city.

In Philippians 4:15-19, Paul encourages the church of Philippi who financially supported his mission and prays financial blessing over their lives:

Why do you not pass an offering plate?

Where does the money go?

Are my donations tax deductible?

We choose not to collect an offering corporately for a number of reasons, the main being we want to ensure that no one feels compelled to give. 2 Corinthians 9:7 guides us that we must decide in our hearts how much to give, not reluctantly or in response to pressure, but cheerfully. Our Give boxes and Church Center app foster an atmosphere of anonymity so that your giving can be between you and the Lord.

Where does the money go?

Are my donations tax deductible?

All of the money that comes in is allotted to items that help us accomplish our goal of being a dwelling place for the Lord and helping people encounter Him. This includes facilities, personnel, partnering with ministries, hospitality, etc. Every dollar that comes through Vintage is prayed over and every dollar that goes out is scrutinized by our financial team. We understand that our family is entrusting the Lord with their finances when they give and, in turn, the Lord is entrusting our financial team to steward it appropriately and with excellence. We would love to talk to you more about this. If you are interested, please contact us.
