01 May Six Weeks In
We have been meeting in our new church home for six weeks now. I wanted to write you to say thank you for all of your hard work and flexibility over the last six weeks. I know that change doesn’t come natural or easy for many of us and I appreciate you working with Brittany and myself as we strive to make the necessary changes to fit the needs of our ministry. We are doing our best to keep up with the demands of the job and one thing I wish I had more time for was to lavish you with our praise and thankfulness. We are so blessed by our awesome team.
As I have mentioned to many of you before, the biggest challenge that we faced moving into the new building was learning how to schedule our current team for two services. When I brought many of you onto our team, I communicated that you would only be needed one Sunday service per month. Now that we have two services, that is simply unrealistic. To fulfill the 26-30 positions needed each Sunday for VCK, we would have to have nearly 150 team members if they only served one service a month. I don’t believe I have the capacity to manage a team that large!
There are 50 people currently serving in some capacity at Vintage City Kids. This seems like a large enough team to me that I shouldn’t need to keep adding more; however, Brittany has been unable to fill some of our current positions due to a lack of available team members.
Before adding more people to the team, I want to make sure we are utilizing our current team. Some individuals have already expressed a desire to serve more frequently and I would like to see if there are any other current team members who feel the same way. Is that you? Please pray about it and if so, email the beautiful Brittany (firstname.lastname@example.org) to update your scheduling preferences.
Thank you for your time. And just for fun I’ve included a video that includes two of my favorite things: kids & puppies. Enjoy.
