Transitioning To Our New Home

Hello Team,

We are in an exciting season and our journey as a mobile church will soon be over. We will make the announcement to the entire body next week, but I wanted to let you know that if construction remains on schedule, we plan to have our first Sunday of worship in the new gathering space on Sunday, March 1st.

The Vintage Leadership Team has been working hard to make this transition as seamless as possible. There will be some things that affect our kid’s team directly so I wanted to get those in front of you as soon as possible.

Multiple Gatherings//Scheduling

To begin, we will move to a two-service format for Sunday morning services. Vintage City Kids will be offered at both our 9am and 11am service times.

We are seeing new families each week and experiencing an exciting time of growth. We believe that to best accommodate everyone, it will be necessary to move directly to multiple services. Obviously, this increases the number of volunteer positions within all areas of ministry, but especially the Vintage City Kid’s Team.

I am excited for the opportunities that will come by having more options to attend different service times. My vision and desire would be to still keep you on the schedule once a month, but have you serve back-to-back services; however, some team members may prefer to serve one and attend the other. If that is the case, I will need you to serve multiple Sundays.

It has always been our desire for serving in VCK to not only be an area that you give, but one that you receive and grow in as well. We want to accommodate your families needs to the best of our abilities and in order to do that, I have created a Scheduling Preferences Form to gain insight on your scheduling preferences. Check-In Directly To Classrooms

I cannot express how much I love to see the kids worship with their parents for the beginning portion of our worship services; however, this has been an increasingly difficult area for us to maintain security for the children and have accurate rosters. With adding multiple services, it is now time to have children check directly into their classrooms when they arrive on Sundays. Vintage City Kids will begin accepting children for check in 15 minutes prior to the service time.

I am confident that because of how strong & engaging worship has been at Vintage City Kids, the children will not be missing out on an authentic encounter with the Lord, even if they are not able to join their parents for the first portion of service.

How this will affect you…

Effective on our first Sunday in the new gathering space, you will be responsible for checking children into your own class when they arrive. In October, I introduced you to our new check in system with Planning Center Online and included an instructional video on how to use it. Unfortunately, we were unable to transition to this system during our time at Fossil since their wireless network was not compatible.

Since we will have access to our own wireless network at the building, we will be able to transition to this new system shortly after we move in. You will need to understand our system so you can properly check children in and out of your classrooms. I will provide additional training before we officially make the switch.

VCK Team Member Meeting & Tour

As we approach our move-in date to the new gathering space, I would like to meet with our team to offer you a tour of the newly renovated space and hold a meeting to cover training on the new check in system as well as answer any questions you might have. I will set a date and communicate it with you when we are sure that construction is on schedule.
