The Power of Prayer

This last Sunday, we came together for an amazing night of prayer and worship. I don’t know what it is about having nights like that, but there is something powerful that happens when we come together as a group to glorify the Lord. I watched as so many of you really engaged in worship and had personal encounters with God.

True worship isn’t just singing songs, it’s giving all of yourself, every thought, every ounce of your being to God. It’s putting him first, him allowing him to have preeminence in your life.

My favorite part of the night was moving into the aux room for prayer. For those of you who could not make it on Sunday, we received some of those prayer cards that we had left in the food boxes in the mail from Kingdom Mischief Night. They had some extremely heavy things written down on them, everything from suicidal thoughts and chronic illness, to being prepared to starve until thanksgiving day.

When we split into groups to pray over the needs and there was such an awesome sense of the presence of God in the room. I was so proud of the way you all listen to the lord and then just went after it prophesying and praying for these families in need.

We did something similar with the adults at prayer last Wednesday and while they were praying and prophesying over these families, I had a really cool picture from the Lord. I saw us in our groups at Vintage and as we prayed it was like a rainbow came shooting out from where each group was and landed on the families we were praying for. The rainbow represented God’s covenant and faithfulness. As they declared blessings, and good things over the families I watched as Gold was sent across to these families homes. The gold represented prosperity, provision, and healing.

It was a really cool picture and made me reflect on the power corporate prayer. The anointing that comes when a group of people begins praying for something together is so unique, there is nothing like it. The whole atmosphere changes when people begin to agree in prayer.

Matthew 18:20 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or more are gathered, I am there in the midst”.

I am excited to have more nights together like this where can go after things in prayer as a group, and grow in the Lord together. I’d love to see you guys on Wednesday evenings at the Vintage prayer nights as well!

Thanks for being awesome.

Love you all,

Landon
